What information do I need to supply during set up?
You will be asked to provide your name, address, date of birth and social security number during the set up process. This is used to verify your identification as part of the USA PATRIOT Act. The USA PATRIOT Act was established to help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities. Federal law requires institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each customer that opens an account. We may also ask you to provide a copy of your driver's license or other identifying documents.
What can I expect once I enroll?
Once you have submitted your enrollment, we will verify your information and begin processing your card request. When your card order has been approved, you will receive an email with instructions on logging in to your account and setting up a payroll direct deposit. If we have difficulty verifying your information, we may request a copy of your driver's license or other identifying documents. You should expect to receive your card within 5-10 business days.
When will I receive my BRilliant Card?
Unless you are contacted indicating otherwise, you can expect to receive your card(s) within 5-10 business days.
Can I get a card for another person?
You can request an additional card in another person's name for a fee of $5.00, up to three (3) additional cards can be requested. Each additional card will use the same balance as the primary cardholder. Cards can be requested during enrollment or by logging in here.
Will I need to activate the card?
You will need to activate your BRilliant Card when you receive it. You can activate the card by calling (855) 494-9100 or by logging in here.
Will I receive a PIN with my card?
During card activation, you may select a Personal Identification Number (PIN). The PIN may be used for ATM access and point-of-sale purchases.

How do I set up direct deposit?
Setting up direct deposit is easy. When you receive your card, the bottom portion of the card carrier contains a direct deposit form with an account number and routing number. These are provided for the purposes of facilitating direct deposit only. On the form, you will need to indicate if you would like to deposit all or a portion of your payroll. Then, submit the form to your employer. If your employer requires a specific form, you may enter the routing number and account number on their form. You may also obtain the account number and routing number by logging in here and selecting Add Funds.
How do I add cash to my BRilliant Card?
Adding cash to your Brilliant Card is fast and easy. Find a location near you offering Green Dot Reload@ the Register and follow the prompts to load funds to the BRilliant Card. When using Reload@ the Register, a service fee of up to $4.95 applies. Reload limits apply.
Can I transfer BRilliant Card funds to another card or load my BRilliant Card from another card?
You can transfer funds from one BRilliant Card to another BRilliant Card by calling (855) 494-9100. You cannot use a personal debit or credit card to load funds on the card.

Where is the BRilliant Card accepted?
The BRilliant Card is accepted everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted.
Should I select DEBIT or CREDIT when I swipe my card?
To sign for a transaction, select CREDIT. To use your PIN, select DEBIT.
Can I use the account number provided for direct deposit for automated payments?
The account number provided for direct deposit is not intended for use with automatic payments. You may use the BRilliant Card to make a payment or pay a bill with any merchant that accepts Debit Mastercard. Simply provide the card number, expiration date and CVV (if required).
Are there any restrictions on where I can use the card?
The BRilliant Card is for general use and is accepted everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted. However, the BRilliant Card cannot be used for gambling or any illegal transaction.
Can I withdraw money from an ATM?
Yes. When you activate your card by phone or online at, you will have the option to select a 4 digit PIN (Personal Identification Number) that can be used for cash withdrawals at an ATM.
Will I be charged to use an ATM?
Your BRilliant Card provides 2 free ATM transactions each calendar month. A fee of $1.50 applies for additional transactions. If you use an ATM that is not part of the SUM® network for any transaction, including a balance inquiry, you may be charged a fee by the ATM operator even if you do not complete a withdrawal. This ATM fee is a third party fee amount assessed by the individual ATM operator only and is not assessed by us. This ATM fee amount will be charged to your card. The BRilliant Card is part of the SUM network and provides surcharge free transactions at any SUM ATM.
Can I change my PIN or obtain one after card activation?
Yes. If you did not select a PIN during card activation or would like to change your PIN, call (855) 494-9100 and follow the prompts.
I have enough funds available for the transaction but the merchant indicates I have insufficient funds. Why doesn't my card work?
Some merchants (e.g. hotels, car rentals, restaurants, gas stations) will pre-authorize the transaction and temporarily hold funds for an amount greater than the transaction. If this amount is greater than the funds available on your card, you may receive a notice that there are insufficient funds available. This is a temporary hold until the final transaction is posted by the merchant. Once the transaction has posted and the hold is lifted, your available balance will reflect the actual amount of the transaction.

If paying at the pump for fuel, a $75 hold is placed on the card. However, if you pay the store clerk, the exact amount will be taken from your card and a hold will not be placed on the card.
